hungaria, you are almost certainly correct, but thinking about a battered, doddering, senile old WALL-E who’s one step away from the scrap heap makes me sad. I prefer to believe he is a rapist.
Renophaston, if you prefer to believe the drunk WALL-E is a rapist, then it is means that he is gay? 😀 ‘Cause I hope he is.
Tell me about it! I was so disappointed in the movie when EVE showed up and WALL-E got all hot and bothered. Just what we need—another heterobot! Thanks Hollywood! Which reminds me: I gotta get to work on my WALL-E / Wheems slash fic!
But seriously, I think rape isn’t really about the sex, it’s about control, so the WALL-E isn’t necessarily gay. One of the best things about rape is that it doesn’t discriminate. Stuck on a planet for so long with such limited options… life finds a way. And that’s really what the movie was all about, I think.
